CHARACTER: Choices Have A Response And Consequence To Endure Regardless
As a Licensed Social Worker, I understand that the choices we make are going to have a response and a consequence that must be endured, regardless of whether or not we want to acknowledge or endure them. This has proven to be evident in the work I have done as a therapist with clients working through different challenges of life, including anger management, divorce, blending families, grief and mental health concerns. Many times, and for most of us, we may not have had the opportunity to learn how to deal with things, or to give voice to our truth. We have responded to things as best as we could, and sometimes felt unsupported in dealing with the consequences that followed. I provide therapy from a place of assisting individuals in enduring the responses and consequences of choices made throughout life, ultimately improving the mental health and while developing a characteristic of resilience.
I relocated to Cleveland, Ohio from Atlanta, Georgia, to become a graduate of Case Western Reserve University, and Masters Level Licensed Social Worker. My undergraduate degree is in Sociology from Georgia State University in Atlanta, Georgia. I am extremely interested in the impact of society on individuals. My areas of interest include trauma and its presence as anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues in adolescents, adults and Families. Using a humanistic approach to therapy, I employ the techniques of Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to allow each individual to work to attain their own goals through strengths-based therapeutic practices.
