Sara Bates, MSW, LISW-S
Ms. Sara Bates is a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision Designation trained in Trauma-Informed Care, CBT, DBT, and EMDR. She grew up in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida moving to Ohio for College (The Ohio State University) and is a mother of five children. Before obtaining her Master’s in Social Work, she worked as a High School teacher in Richland County. She has specialized in Criminal Justice Therapy, Dual Diagnosis, Family Therapy, Woman Empowerment, LGBTQ and Sex Positive Social Work, training other therapists in the community mental health field. Her clinical approach, is to meet the client where they are, by building on personal strengths and supporting them through life’s difficult challenges. Ms. Bates has experience working with adolescents and adult populations. As well as diagnoses including but not limited to, Anxiety, Depression, Personality Disorders, PTSD, Bi-Polar, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Intermittent Explosive Disorder, Conduct Disorder, ADHD, and Substance Use Disorders.
Sara recently completed training to be able to help clients who are in need of Emotional Support Animals to aid in their mental health recovery.
